The Legal Division Participates in the Wreath-Laying Ceremony in Commemoration of “Rapee Day” 2025

On 7 August 2025, Khon Kaen University, led by the Legal Affairs Division, Office of the President, participated in a wreath-laying and tribute ceremony in honor of His Royal Highness Prince Rabi Pathanasak, Krom Luang Ratchaburi Direkrit, on the occasion of Rapee Day 2025. The ceremony was held at the monument of His Royal Highness Prince Rabi Pathanasak, in front of the Khon Kaen Provincial Court.

The ceremony was organized to commemorate His Royal Highness’s benevolence and to pay tribute to him, who is widely revered as the “Father of Thai Law.” Representatives from government agencies, the private sector, and various organizations in Khon Kaen Province attended the event. The program included floral tributes, a homage speech, a moment of silence, and the laying of wreaths in remembrance of His invaluable contributions.

Rapee Day is observed annually on 7 August, marking the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Rabi Pathanasak, Krom Luang Ratchaburi Direkrit. He was a distinguished jurist whose contributions were instrumental in shaping Thailand’s legal system. He laid the foundation for the establishment of the judiciary, introduced systematic procedures of justice, and founded the country’s first law school, which became the cornerstone of the modern rule of law in Thailand.

On this auspicious occasion, Khon Kaen University expresses its profound gratitude and deepest respect in remembrance of His Royal Highness’s immeasurable contributions to the Thai legal system.
